Best Futures Prop Firms (2026): Ranked by Drawdown, Consistency and Payout Rules
The best futures prop firms for 2026, ranked on the rules that end accounts: drawdown before and after the pass, consistency caps, payout caps and fees.

The best futures prop firms are the ones whose rules let an ordinary trading day survive. Not the deepest discount, and not the logo your Discord argues about. On October 4, 2026 we read the current rules for five firms on their own help centers and ranked them on four things: the drawdown before and after the pass, the consistency rule, the payout rule, and the fees. Plenty of lists of the best prop firms for futures lead with the discount, and the discount changes with every sale. Every figure below is for the 50K account, and the firm's live page wins if it disagrees with us.
The best futures prop firms at a glance
All five ask for $3,000 on a 50K evaluation with a $2,000 maximum loss. That is where the resemblance stops.
| Firm (50K plan) | Evaluation drawdown | Drawdown after the pass | Evaluation consistency | Payout rule after the pass | Split |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Lucid Trading (LucidFlex) | $2,000, end of day | End of day, locks at $50,100 | 50%, checked at the pass | 5 days of $150+, half your profit, $2,000 cap | 90/10 |
| 2. Tradeify (Select) | $2,000, end of day | End of day; Daily adds a $1,000 DLL | 40%, 3-day minimum | Flex: 5 winning days, $2,500 cap. Daily: every day, $1,250 cap | 90/10 |
| 3. Topstep (Trading Combine) | $2,000 end-of-day trail, watched in real time | Starts at −$2,000, sits at $0 after the first payout | Best day under 55% of the target | 5 winning days of $150+, half the balance, $2,000 cap | 90/10 |
| 4. My Funded Futures (Rapid) | $2,000, end of day | Intraday trail, locks at $100 | 50%, 2-day minimum | Daily, after a $2,100 buffer | 90/10 |
| 5. Take Profit Trader (Test, then PRO) | $2,000, end of day | Intraday trail | Best day under 50%, 3-day minimum | From day one, once the balance passes $52,000 | 80/20 |
We ordered the best futures prop firms by three things: an end-of-day trail on both sides of the pass, a consistency rule that stops at the pass, and no buffer to build before the first withdrawal. Trade a different style and the order changes, so each section says who the firm suits.
1. Lucid Trading: end-of-day drawdown from start to finish
LucidFlex is the easiest of the five to hold in your head. That matters when you are the one who has to remember it at 9:31 a.m. ET (13:31 UTC).
- Evaluation: $3,000 target, $2,000 max loss limit, 4 minis or 40 micros. A one-time fee with no monthly rebill, and no activation fee to move up.
- Drawdown: end of day in both stages. The floor follows your highest close until the account closes above $52,100, then locks at $50,100. Requesting a payout moves it to $50,100 at once.
- Consistency: your largest day can be 50% of the account's profit when you finish the evaluation. After that, none.
- Payouts: five days of at least $150 and positive net profit in the cycle. Then request any day, from $500 up to half your profit, capped at $2,000 per request. After five payouts the account moves to live.
What it lacks is a forced brake. The daily loss limit is an optional add-on at checkout, so the stop you set is the only one there is. The qualifying-day math is in lucid trading flex account rules.
2. Tradeify: choose the payout schedule after the pass
Tradeify Select runs one evaluation for everyone: $3,000 target, $2,000 end-of-day drawdown, no daily loss limit, 4 minis. Two catches. The consistency cap is 40%, so a $1,300 day on a $3,000 total already breaks it, and you need at least three trading days. And "end of day" only describes when the floor moves. Tradeify says an intraday touch fails the account immediately.
After the pass you pick a payout policy, and the choice is permanent for that account:
- Select Flex: no daily loss limit and no consistency rule. A request every five winning days of $150+, up to half your total profit, capped at $2,500.
- Select Daily: a $1,000 daily loss limit and a $2,100 buffer. Then a request every day for up to twice the profit made since the last one, capped at $1,250.
Those caps are for accounts bought after September 1, 2026. Before that date Flex paid up to $3,000 and Daily up to $1,000, and older accounts keep their old numbers. Screenshot the rules page on the day you buy. The same numbers next to Topstep's and Lucid's are in topstep vs lucid vs tradeify.
3. Topstep: the longest track record, and a $0 floor
Topstep has run evaluations longer than any other firm here, and its help center shows it: one rule, a few objectives, a worked example for every edge case.
The Trading Combine is a monthly subscription that rebills until you pass or cancel. On the 50K you need $3,000. The maximum loss limit sits $2,000 under your best end-of-day balance and is monitored in real time, open losses included. Keep your best day under 55% of the target, which is $1,650, or the target itself goes up. Two days minimum, 5 minis maximum.
The Express Funded Account is where people get caught. The balance starts at $0 with the limit at −$2,000, and after the first payout the limit is $0 for good. What you leave in the account is the whole cushion. Topstep also charges an activation fee to open it.
Payouts are 90/10 with a $125 minimum. The Standard path needs five winning days of $150+ and pays up to half the balance, capped at $2,000. The Consistency path asks for three trading days with no day above 40% of profit, and caps at $3,000. Topstep is currently doubling both caps for traders who add a daily loss limit when they buy the Combine, and calls it a limited-time offer. Live Funded Account payouts have no dollar cap.
4. My Funded Futures: four plans, read the drawdown line twice
My Funded Futures charges no activation fee on any plan and says most payout requests are approved instantly. The trap: the plans share an evaluation shape, not a drawdown.
- Rapid: $3,000 target, $2,000 end-of-day max loss, 50% consistency, 5 minis. After the pass the trail turns intraday, follows your equity high and locks at $100. Daily payouts once you hold a $2,100 buffer, $500 minimum, 90/10.
- Rapid EOD: end of day in both stages, but 30% consistency, four days minimum and 3 minis.
- Builder: end of day, with a $1,000 daily loss limit that pauses the day instead of failing the account. Payouts need you inside 50% consistency, top out at $2,000 per request and split 80/20.
- Pro: a request every 14 calendar days, a $2,100 buffer target, 80/20.
An intraday trail is not a footnote. A trade that runs $1,500 your way and comes back to flat has moved your floor $1,500 closer, even though the day closed at zero. If that sounds like your tape, pick Rapid EOD or Builder. The worked examples are in trailing drawdown.
5. Take Profit Trader: day-one withdrawals, intraday trail
Take Profit Trader's Test is a standard 50K: $3,000 target, $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown, 6 contracts or 60 micros, at least three trading days, and a best day under 50% of net profit. Go over 50% and the goal rises to more than twice your best day. You have not failed.
The PRO account is where it splits from the pack. You can withdraw from the first day, but only once the balance is above $52,000, and the split is 80/20. The drawdown becomes intraday, trailing your peak balance including open profit. You must trade at least one day a week and be flat from a minute before to a minute after FOMC, nonfarm payrolls and CPI. For an NQ trader who works the 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC) release, that last rule decides it.
Which futures prop firm fits how you trade
No firm wins for everyone. One firm's rules will match a day you can repeat.
- You hold through pullbacks and often close near your entry: stay away from an intraday trail after the pass. Lucid, Tradeify and Topstep keep end-of-day logic; MFFU Rapid and the TPT PRO account do not.
- You want money out quickly and can live with a daily loss limit: Tradeify Select Daily or MFFU Rapid.
- You want the oldest operator and an uncapped live stage, and a $0 floor does not scare you: Topstep.
- You are looking for the best futures prop firm for beginners: pick one with a brake. MFFU Builder pauses you at −$1,000 for the day, and Lucid offers an optional daily loss limit at checkout. Take it.
Apex Trader Funding is not ranked yet. We rank a firm only after reading its current rules on its own help center, and Apex is next on that list.
My rule for any of these: write the floor, the consistency line and the next payout day on one card before the session opens. MyTradingBuddy reads your chart across timeframes, marks the key levels and checks the setup against the playbook you wrote, card included. The plans are on the pricing page.
Red flags to check before you buy any evaluation
Copy these from the live rules page, not from a review site (including this one):
- The drawdown type after the pass, not only during the evaluation.
- Whether touching an end-of-day floor intraday fails the account. Topstep, Tradeify and Take Profit Trader all say it does.
- The consistency percent and what it divides by: Topstep uses the profit target, the others use the profit you have made.
- The buffer before the first withdrawal: none on LucidFlex or Select Flex, $2,100 at MFFU, a $52,000 balance at Take Profit Trader.
- Where the floor goes after the first payout: $0 at Topstep, $50,100 at Lucid, $100 at MFFU.
- Monthly or one-time fee, and whether an activation fee follows the pass.
- News rules after the pass.
Then one question about the firm itself. When it changes a rule, does the change hit accounts you already own? Tradeify's new cap applied to new purchases only. That is the honest way to do it. The warning signs from firms that later shut down are in prop firm red flags.
