Topstep vs Lucid vs Tradeify: Drawdown, Consistency and Payout Rules Side by Side
Topstep vs Lucid vs Tradeify compared on the rules that end accounts: drawdown type, consistency caps, daily loss limits and payout rules for 50K accounts.

Topstep vs Lucid vs Tradeify is a rules problem, not a logo problem. The 50K pages for all three already show up on page one and barely get clicked, because the drawdown, the consistency cap, and the payout clock are still on three different sites. This page puts the 50K versions on one table. Figures were checked against each firm’s help center on September 30, 2026. Confirm them on Topstep’s, Lucid Trading’s and Tradeify’s own help centers before you pay. The live help center wins if it disagrees with us.
Topstep vs Lucid vs Tradeify at a glance
Same headline shape. Different way the account actually dies.
| Topstep Combine 50K | Lucid Flex 50K | Tradeify Select 50K | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eval target | $3,000 | $3,000 | $3,000 (6%) |
| Max loss | $2,000, trails the end-of-day high | $2,000, trails the end-of-day high | End-of-day trailing (check the 50K width on your dashboard) |
| Intraday touch of the floor | Fails the account (monitored in real time) | Not stated on Lucid’s page; assume it counts | Fails the account (“enforced in real time”) |
| Eval consistency | Best day below 55% of the profit target | 50% of total profit, at the pass | 40% of total profit |
| Min days to pass | 2 | Checked at the pass | Not a two-day rule; the 40% cap is the gate |
| Position cap | 5 minis / 50 micros | 4 minis / 40 micros | 4 minis / 40 micros |
| Funded consistency | None on Standard; 40% on the Consistency path | None on Flex | None listed on Select |
| Funded start size | 2 lots, grows with the scaling plan | 2 minis, grows with the scaling plan | 4 minis max position |
| Payout split | 90% | 90/10 | 90% |
A lucid flex vs topstep argument that stops at "both are $3,000 / $2,000" has not started. The funded stage is where they split.
Drawdown: the trail waits for the close, until it does not
All three 50K evaluations in that table use an end-of-day trail. The floor moves off the closing balance, not off the high of an open trade, so a big unrealised gain at 10:15 a.m. ET (14:15 UTC) does not drag the floor up behind you.
What an end-of-day trail does not do is forgive an intraday touch. Topstep monitors its limit in real time, open trades included. Tradeify’s rulebook puts it bluntly: “The limit itself is still enforced in real time, and touching it fails the account immediately.” Lucid’s Flex drawdown page says the floor moves at the close but not how a touch is treated, so trade it as if a touch counts. “End-of-day” describes when the line moves, not when it is checked.
On a 50K Express Funded Account the balance starts at $0 and the limit starts at −$2,000. It locks at $0 once the balance reaches $2,000, and the first payout sets it to $0 even sooner. Whatever is left is the most you can lose. The full Combine path is in how to pass topstep.
Lucid Flex trails $2,000 under the highest close until it locks, and the lock is not the same number as the profit target. Read the lock, the qualifying day, and the payout cap in lucid trading flex account rules before you treat Flex as "no rules after the pass."
Tradeify Select uses an end-of-day trail too, with a smaller position cap than Topstep's Combine (4 minis, not 5). How to pass tradeify covers Daily versus Flex after you pass. Those are funded payout games, not two different evaluations.
Consistency rules, and the hour they are checked
Consistency is best day divided by total profit. A 50% cap means the biggest day can be half the total. A 40% cap means it can be less than that. Losing days shrink the total, so they make the ratio worse.
- Topstep Combine: the best day should stay below 55% of the profit target, and you need at least two days. On a 50K that line is $1,650. Go over it and Topstep raises the Consistency Target. The parameters page does not publish the new formula. On the funded Standard path there is no consistency rule. On the Consistency path the funded cap is 40% of total net profit, and the first payout needs three days that satisfy it.
- Lucid Flex: 50% at the moment you request the pass. Not a daily rule. Once the Flex account is funded, that check is gone. The arithmetic, including how a windfall day moves the finish line, is in prop firm consistency rule explained.
- Tradeify Select: 40% during the evaluation. A $1,400 day on a $3,000 total is already over the line. Select does not list a funded consistency rule.
A tradeify vs topstep comparison that quotes one percentage for both will send someone into the wrong test. Topstep's Combine line is 55% of the $3,000 profit target, which is $1,650, and crossing it raises the target. Tradeify Select's 40% is a share of total profit, so a $1,400 day on a $3,000 total is already over.
Daily loss limits and the size cap
The trail is the firm's line. The daily loss limit is usually yours.
Topstep lets you add an optional DLL when you set up the account; hitting it flattens you and pauses the rest of the session instead of failing the account. Lucid Flex does not impose a DLL. That is not a suggestion to trade without one. It means the firm will not flatten you at a number you forgot to set. Tradeify’s Select evaluation and Select Flex have no daily loss limit at all; Select Daily has one ($1,000 on the 50K). Either way, do not use a firm’s limit as your stop: slippage on a forced flatten can still breach the trail. And Select wants you flat by 4:45 p.m. ET (20:45 UTC). Auto-flatten is not a violation. The slippage can still be.
Position caps are part of the same decision. Topstep Combine 50K allows 5 minis or 50 micros. Lucid Flex and Tradeify Select allow 4 and 40. Five minis on NQ is $100 a point. A 20-point adverse move is $2,000, which is the entire max loss. The cap is permission. It is not a working size.
Payout rules: days, caps, and the split
All three advertise a 90% trader share on these accounts. The topstep vs lucid vs tradeify payout clocks are the part the ads leave off.
Topstep Standard, after the pass: five winning days of at least $150, profit above zero since the last payout, then up to 50% of the balance within a cap ($2,000 on the 50K; $3,000 on the Consistency path, which swaps the five days for a 40% best-day test). Minimum request $125. Then the max loss limit goes to $0. Take a small first payout or leave a cushion you can stand to see marked as the whole account.
Lucid Flex: five separate days at $150 on the 50K, no payout buffer, up to half of profits capped at $2,000 on that size. You can request on a day you qualify. The five days reset after an approved payout.
Tradeify Select Flex: five winning days of $150 or more on the 50K, a $250 minimum, and a cap of $2,500 per payout since September 1, 2026 (it was $3,000). No daily loss limit and no funded consistency rule. Select Daily: payouts can be requested daily, capped at $1,250 per payout on the 50K, with a $1,000 daily loss limit. On both, the drawdown locks $100 above the starting balance after a payout. The numbers are on Tradeify’s Select payout policies. Picking Daily when you wanted Flex, or the reverse, is how a passed evaluation still cannot pay.
If a request comes back rejected, the steps in prop firm payout denied are the ones we use: read the rejection, match it to the qualifying-day rule, resubmit only when that rule is actually met.
Which rules fit the day you already trade
There is no best futures prop firm in this row. There is a best match for a day you can repeat.
Trade one window, and the EOD trail is your friend, because a red morning can still be a green close. Trade three windows, and the same trail is how a locked-in high from yesterday becomes today's problem. Best times to trade NQ is the session map. Pick one of those windows. Not all of them.
- You can grind five modest days and you will not panic when the floor goes to $0: Topstep Standard is built for that, if the best day stays under 55% of the profit target on the way through.
- You want the consistency check to end at the pass, and you will set your own daily stop because the firm will not: Lucid Flex.
- You want to choose, after the pass, between a daily-payout account and a five-day account, and you can keep every eval day under 40%: Tradeify Select.
A topstep vs lucid trading choice that ignores the funded floor is how traders pass the "easier" eval and then donate the first payout. The hero day is obvious. The $0 floor is a sentence in a help article.
Check the rulebook before you pay
Write these down from the live page, not from memory:
- Trail type for the exact product: end-of-day or intraday, and whether an intraday touch of the floor fails the account.
- The dollar width of that trail on the 50K.
- The consistency percent, and whether it is checked on the eval, the payout, or both.
- The qualifying-day count and the minimum dollar day.
- What the floor does after the first withdrawal.
Then put those five numbers in the plan you actually trade. How to pass a prop firm challenge is the hub for that process: the read is not the thing that ends the account. The size after the read is.
My rule on any of these 50Ks: if I cannot say today's floor and today's consistency ceiling out loud, I do not have a trade. Screenshot the chart and check the setup against that card before you click. The plans are on the pricing page.

Nothing here is financial advice. Each firm's live rulebook wins if it disagrees with this page. A passed evaluation is not a payout.
