Trade Buddy AI vs MyTradingBuddy: Not the Same Thing (Here’s the Difference)

“Trade Buddy AI” is a screenshot-to-summary phone app; MyTradingBuddy reads your live TradingView chart for prop firm challenges. Side-by-side differences and which to pick.

If you searched "trade buddy ai" and landed here, there is a good chance you were looking for one of two very different products. They share three words and almost nothing else. This page exists because people mix them up every day, and we would rather you pick the right one than the wrong one — even if the right one is not us.

The short version

  • TradeBuddy – AI Chart Analyst (also listed as "Trade Buddy AI") is a mobile app. You take a screenshot of any chart — stocks, forex, crypto — and it sends the image to a set of general AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek) with a prompt you can edit. Back comes a write-up: trend, volatility, volume, sentiment, pattern names like head-and-shoulders or flags, and indicator commentary (RSI, MACD, moving averages). It is a screenshot-to-summary tool for any market.
  • MyTradingBuddy (this site, mytradingbuddy.ai) is a TradingView-based trading assistant built for prop firm challenge traders, mainly on futures like NQ. It does not work from a screenshot. It reads the live chart you have open on TradingView, maps support and resistance, and explains the setup it sees in the language a day trader uses — structure, levels, what it would wait for. It is one system, applied every day to the same instruments, with a workflow around it.

Same three words. One is a camera pointed at a chart. The other is a co-pilot inside the chart.

Both are honest about the same thing: neither trades for you, neither holds your money, neither is regulated advice. Where they differ is depth versus breadth.

When Trade Buddy AI is the better pick

Choose the screenshot app if you trade many different markets, mostly from your phone, and you want a second opinion on a chart you are looking at right now without setting anything up. It is a generalist. If you follow crypto on one app, stocks on another and want one place to paste a picture and get a paragraph back, that is exactly what it is for. Its editable prompt also makes it a decent way to learn indicator vocabulary.

When MyTradingBuddy is the better pick

Choose MyTradingBuddy if your day looks like this: same instrument (usually NQ), same session, a prop firm evaluation with a daily loss limit, and the real problem is not "what does this pattern mean" but "am I about to enter before the retest again." A screenshot summary cannot see that you took the same trade at the same level twice last week. A system that sits inside your chart every day, maps the same levels the same way, and tells you what it would wait for can.

That difference is the whole reason we built it. Prop firm evaluations are failed on execution — entering early, sizing up after a loss, breaking the plan at the third loss — far more often than on analysis. A tool for that has to be in the chart, not in your camera roll.

Things people get wrong about both

"Trade Buddy AI mod APK." That search shows up a lot. A cracked version of a chart app is a version someone else compiled; if it is sending your screenshots and prompts somewhere, you have no idea where. Pay for the app or do not use it.

"Is MyTradingBuddy the same company?" No. Different company, different product, different country. We have no relationship with the app-store TradeBuddy and we do not review it beyond what is public.

"Which one wins more?" Neither tool wins or loses trades. The trader does. Anyone — including us — telling you a chart tool has a win rate is selling you something.

How to tell which one you are looking at

  • App store listing with screenshot-scanning and "multi-AI" in the description → Trade Buddy AI.
  • mytradingbuddy.ai, a TradingView chart, and the words "prop firm challenge" → MyTradingBuddy.

If you came here looking for the app, no hard feelings — the links in the search results will get you there. If you came here because you are two weeks into an evaluation and keep giving back your gains, the trial is three days for $14.07 and it works on the chart you already have open: https://mytradingbuddy.ai/pricing

Nothing here is financial advice. This is not a review of Trade Buddy AI beyond what is public. Trading involves risk.
